The Cellar

The farm is located in the heart of the DOC area known as Colli Orientali del Friuli. The estate spreads over a total area of 35 hectares with vineyards covering 25 hectares. Because of the focus on high quality the average annual production consists of about 100.000 bottles, as a result of an intentionally low yield. After a careful manual harvesting, cleaning is done with the technique of cooling, followed by a fermentation done at controlled temperatures. After this operation the wine is allowed to stand in steel or in barrels until the time of bottling. Colli Orientali del Friuli terraces are sweet and sunny, ideal for viticulture, practiced in these areas since ancient times. The land consists mainly of clay, stratified marl and limestone. This special terroire, which takes the name of Ponca, is particularly suited to viticulture, as the combined effect of human work with the action of water, wind, sun and defrosts of winter makes it rich in salts and trace elements. In the wine production modern technologies are combined with ancient wisdom and dedication and our wine products become expressions of our land and its special characteristics.
