La Cantina

For Beppe Dosio, wine is not a question of love at first sight, but a passion that has grown day after day, and which has quickly led his company to achieve outstanding levels of excellence. Over the years, the company, which was founded in 1974 as a hobby, has become a wellestablished player in the landscape of world-renowned Piedmont wines. Situated in an enchanting setting on the La Morra hills, in the heart of the Langhe area, five hundred meters above sea level, it enjoys sweeping views over the plain of Cuneo and Turin, reaching as far as the splendid Maritime Alps and the Monte Rosa Massif. The existing farmhouse, dating from the mideighteenth century - as evidenced by the old beams brought back to their former splendour in the tasting room - was completely renovated, adding new vineyards to the original property. The old vineshave given way to new plants, with Dolcetto being joined by Barolo, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Barbaresco, Langhe Rosso, Freisa and Roero Arneis. All work has been carried out with full respect for tradition, so as to create a sense of continuity between past and present. The parsimonious use of technology, without altering the natural processes, optimises production. The meticulously tended vineyards produce first-rate grapes, which are of course the essential raw material for top quality wines.
