La Cantina

The Zellina winery, located in the north-east of Italy, in Friuli region, was founded in the 1920 from Anselmi grandparents who have passed on to their children and grandchildren their traditional experience and sense of belonging to earth. The mild climate of this area, given the remarkable closeness to the sea, linked to winds from the coastal areas, allows the right condensation of moisture needed for precipitation. The vineyards, about 150 hectares, entirely cultivated crop of lives, extending in a territory recognized, what is the Friuli, since the time of the ancient Romans who, retreating from the coastal area to the hinterland, began the great tradition of wine in this region. The production is a good choice on the best grapes recognized in all the world as Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, along with other varieties. But detailed, is also the production of grape varieties typical of this region, as the Refosco from Peduncolo Rosso, Ribolla Gialla, Tocai Friulano, Verduzzo Friulano, the Franconia, Schioppettino, Pignolo, Moscato Rosa and, even if not properly indigenous, even Prosecco that rarely is grown in this region.
